The younger Cereza was eventually returned to her original timeline near the end of the game. During the climax, it's revealed that Cereza is actually a time-displaced version of Bayonetta from the past, who was summoned to the present by game's antagonist, Balder, with Bayonetta's real name also being Cereza. She's a character that Bayonetta watches over the course of the game, who also thinks is her mother. It was announced in December 2017, and is scheduled for release on October 28, 2022. It was directed by Yusuke Miyata and produced by Yuji Nakao, with the Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya as executive director. Bayonetta 3 was revealed in September 2021, and at the time, Bayonetta's prior voice actor, Hellena Taylor, was unable to confirm whether or not she would once again lend her voice to the Umbra Witch. Both games have seen the past versions of the cast meeting some of their present-day counterparts. ![]() The game was announced during the Game Awards in December 2017, with a brief teaser trailer that followed the announcement of the prior two games being ported to the Switch. The game is set to release on October 28, 2022. If we remember the announcement trailer of Bayonetta 3 back in 2017, it was shown that Bayonetta was killed by an unknown character. The last two Bayonetta games are no stranger to messing around with time travel, with the concept being an essential plot point. As with Bayonetta 2, Nintendo funded the development and will serve as publisher, while franchise owner Sega is involved in an advisory role.
